An interesting variety of simple blocks combined with large borders make these 89" x 105" queen-sized quilts easy and fun.

Strip piecing, easy half square triangles, and other time-saving techniques help to speed the process. Use your favorite method of appliqué for the eye-catching border swags.

Pattern includes excellent cutting layouts, master pattern for bunches of quick half square triangles, and complete instructions for making this 89" x 105" queen quilt.

Inspired by an idyllic summer spent at a peaceful little spot in the Pacific Northwest, this quilt will always bring me memories of abundant gardens, meandering creeks, rolling hills, and delightful afternoons spent reading under the towering trees.

I hope it will remind you of a special time and place in your life, too.

Notes from Annie:

I made this quilt using Susan Branch's "Martha's Vineyard" line of fabric for RJR. I fussy cut Susan's delightful drawings and quotes for the centers of the leaf and nine patch blocks. Too fun!

I quilted the entire BIG quilt on my trusty Bernina 1080. Basting the quilt with water soluble thread after pin basting makes quilting even a quilt of this size easy. The entire quilt is stabilized so you can get rid of the pins and concentrate on small areas at a time. I used a number of stencils to mark feathered wreaths and borders and did lots of cross-hatches and stippling in the background. I love how it turned out!
