Tea Time

— table toppers in two styles!

These table toppers in two versions go together quickly using strip piecing and other time-saving techniques.

Version 1 has a dainty scalloped border and finishes to about 56" x 56". Pattern includes detailed instructions for binding the scalloped edges.


Version 2 has a plain border
Version 1 has a dainty scalloped border

Version 2 finishes to 62" x 62" and has an easy square border.


Both quilts offer great spaces for wonderful quilting!



Notes from Annie:

This quilt uses Susan Branch's "Martha's Vineyard" line of fabric for RJR. I fussy cut Susan's delightful drawings and quotes for the centers of blocks.

I quilted the quilt on my trusty Bernina 1080. Basting the quilt with water soluble thread after pin basting stabilized the quilt and enabled me to grid baste the quilt without having permanent lines in the finished quilt. (I wouldn't have wanted straight lines going through the center of the quilt.)

I used a large feathered medallion stencil for the quilt's large center and did lots of cross-hatching and stippling in the background. I'm very happy with the end result.
