ByAnnie Top Voted

WINNER: Lyn W of @rosepink1961

ABOUT: Lyn made this beautiful set of Ultimate Travel Bag and Clam Up for her local shop.

THEIR STORY: “I was asked by my local quilting store to construct one of the ByAnnie patterns that they have as a current stock item to display at at a recent CraftAlive Show.

I chose the Ultimate Travel Bag using fabrics by Tanya Whelan her latest collection Barefoot Roses. I quilted the fabric using my Brother Innovis.

To make the bag mine, I personalized the bag by adding an embroidered monogram initial and signature button. I love Rose Gold hardware so it was only fitting to include the rose pulls to compliment Tanya's beautiful rose fabric. So not to waste any fabric I used what was remaining to make a medium Clam Up!"

WHAT WE LOVED: David, our warehouse manager said, "She really focused on the detail and her binding was on point!"

WHAT THEY WON: $50 coupon to use on ByAnnie.com

Storyteller Award

WINNER: Sariah B of @sariah_bates10

ABOUT: The evolution from a nine-year old's dream to a late teen's exquisite work of art really touched us. Thanks Sariah for sharing your beautiful MJ's Messenger Bag.

THEIR STORY: "When I was 9 years old, I wanted a bag suitable for carrying library books. I was raised with a DIY mentality so with my budding knowledge of sewing and my own pattern, I made myself a little library bag.

It was sewn out of pink daisy fabric, had a ladybug ribbon stitched across the front, and the flap was completed with a hot glued button. My book bag resembled a messenger bag and I loved it! Over the years I used the bag less and less, because it was too small. (See photo below of the original.)

Years later after getting into ByAnnie bags, I discovered the MJ Messenger bag pattern and I immediately fell in love! I promptly bought the pattern. I ended up selecting sunflower fabrics from the Robin Pickets Solana collection. The materials sat in a bin for a little over a year before I brought them out again this summer.

I’ll admit, part of the reason I procrastinated was because I couldn’t find any ByAnnie add-on videos and I was a little nervous to make this bag without a tutorial. I have made several ByAnnie bags before, but all with video or live assistance. However, I wanted the bag badly enough so I braved the project. And guess what, I had nothing to fear! Annie does a fabulous job with her patterns and I was able to crack out the bag in just a couple of days.

I enjoyed trying out a few new techniques including constructing a handle out of Soft and Stable, making an adjustable strap, and using lots of different hardware. I loved this project and I will thoroughly enjoy using this wonderful bag! "

Honorable Mention

WINNER: Terri P

ABOUT: The Clam Up bags were a beautiful canvas for Terri's applique with vintage fabrics.

THEIR STORY: "I love and collect all types of vintage textiles. Many are hidden away in attics and drawers without being seen and enjoyed. I upcycle these treasures to offer a second chance at life and to be cherished again as intended and the Clam Up bag was a perfect way to showcase this gem.

Many vintage pieces may be stained or torn but can still offer lots of wonderful uses. I encourage everyone to find these vintage pieces you might have hiding and let's begin a revolution to bring them out of the dark and back into the light! "

WHAT WE LOVED: Makenley shared how much she loved the fabric choices. It all came together for a prefect vintage autumn feel.
