WINNER: Kristin D

PATTERN: Bowl Me Over

THEIR STORY:  I purchased a summer pass from Pins and Needles in Middleburg hts, Ohio this past summer. Quilting_Elissa was my incredible teacher! I changed from totally frustrated to confident bag maker in 3 months. So glad I invested in myself!

WHAT WE LOVED: Annie had this to say,  "Kristin's customized Bowl Me over (made in a class with Quilting Elissa) is fabulous! I love the shaped flap on the front as well as the added FPP border on the back.

Her comment that she was glad she invested in herself as perfect. Such a good way to look at the time commitment to a class.

Storyteller Award

WINNER: Leigha M  @leigha.b.morgan

PATTERN: Case in Point

THEIR STORY:  I loved making this bag it took a little longer than anticipated with all the extra embellishments and details but I couldn’t be happier. Now I can ditch the old knitting needles case and knit in style!

I felt this fabric deserved to be made during the celebration of the upcoming jubilee year as commemorated by the pope during Christmas. I look forward to a year full of Jubilee!

Quilt Shop Highlight

WINNER: Quilt Direct

THEIR STORY: Here at Quilt Direct based in Devon, UK our students were delighted to be taught by our in-house bag expert Jo Masters to create the beautiful ByAnnie Payday wallet.

Using a variety of different fabrics and hardware, I hope you agree the class produced some amazing results - a very versatile and personalised bag fit for any occasion, not to mention perfect Christmas gifts for friends and family.

Many had never attempted a bag project before and left having learned new sewing skills in the process and the confidence to try new patterns at future classes we plan for 2025. Thank you ByAnnie for inspiring both Quilt Direct and our students alike!

In the Mix was the prefect addition. I was able to “whip” it up just in time for the party. I’m going to enjoy using it during the Christmas season year after year! ByAnnie for the win ….

PATTERN: Zip It Up!

THEIR STORY:  I made this bag for a work colleague for Christmas! We had previously discussed how much she had liked sesame street and I found the fabric at an op shop and I just knew I had to make her something with it!

I am lucky enough to get to work at a small local quilt shop and the owner travelled over to the international quilt market and got some copies of the new patterns, when she got back and I saw the updated zip it up pattern I just knew it would be perfect.

I really enjoyed making this pattern with some customizations and my colleague was really excited to receive it as a gift.

WHAT WE LOVED: Our team member Joe had this to say, " This gift was so thoughtful with the fabric choice and effort that went into making such a cute bag for a coworker. Way to be awesome keeping the workplace friendly."

Honorable Mention

WINNER: Robyne L  @robyneleaney

PATTERN: Drop Zone

THEIR STORY:  This is my first Drop Zone and I can tell it will be the first of many. I love it. I added the Sammie Messick binding hack along the zipper edge for added interest. This is a gift for a card making friend. I think she will love it because it's easy to take to classes and opens wide and flat making access a breeze.

WHAT WE LOVED: Annie had this to say, "Robyne did a beautiful job on the Drop Zone bags and I love how she photographed them from all angles. Great job!"
