ByAnnie Top Voted

WINNER: Janice G
@janicegerlach

PATTERN: Every Day Every Way

THEIR STORY:  I broke nine needles trying to get this through my very old Singer domestic machine, but I did it! I really doubled down on pounding my seams flat and reducing bulk.

WHAT WE LOVED: Annie had this to say,
"The foundation paper pieced rose on the front of Janice's Every Day Every Way caught my eye immediately. It's a show stopper! I'm glad she persevered to finish this amazing bag.

Pounding the seams really does help reduce bulk. One other tip: Broken needles are usually caused by pulling or pushing the fabric which bends the needle. Be careful to let the machine do the work as you stitch."

WHAT THEY WON: $50 coupon to use on ByAnnie.com

Storyteller Award

WINNER: Marden L

PATTERN: Running With Scissors

THEIR STORY: My adult son is a guitar enthusiast. He has recently become interested in the repair and building of guitars. This hobby requires specialty "tech" tools. He asked me to make him a bag to hold his tools.

We decided "Running With Scissors" was the most appropriate, His favorite guitar player is Eddie Van Halen, so he chose to make the accent strip on front in Eddie"s style. He also chose to add a patch from his favorite guitar brand.

I found the cassette tape ribbon, I used it on the back and the handle. I placed his tools in the bag and marked the spacing for pockets as is advised in the pattern. He said it's perfect and now he can always find his tools when he wants them.

WINNER: Beverley P

PATTERN: Hot & Heavy

THEIR STORY:  I thought the hot & heavy shape is very like a clam shell & found this lovely fabric to use.

WHAT WE LOVED: Our team member Ignasi had this to say, "Beverley has captured a stunning photo, beautifully blending the fabric with starfish on an exquisite garden table, creating a truly charming scene."

Honorable Mention

WINNER: Ash N    @ashleyjayde_handmade

PATTERN: iCases

THEIR STORY:  I've been needing a case for my work laptop and as soon as I saw the Icase 2.0 pattern, I knew it would fit the bill. Although the pattern didn't call for quilting, I'm so happy I choose to quilt the case.

Everything went together perfectly and I'm excited to make these for my coworkers for the holidays! I may even make myself another!

WHAT WE LOVED: Annie had this to say, " I loved seeing the beautiful iCase 2.0 that Ash made for her laptop. She chose great fabrics and the quilting is lovely."

Honorable Mention

WINNER: Nancy H
@nancy_hbbrd

PATTERN: Easy Does It
Carrying Strap and Pad, Drop Zone

THEIR STORY:  My oldest daughter who crochets with such beautiful tension and tremendous care was asked by a local (to her) event coordinator if she'd be interested in having a spot at her venue. She felt honored to be asked, as last year, she had about a dozen items that were literally put in a basket and only one was not sold.

So, she committed to being involved, then a bit of panic set in and I get the call: "MOM!!!!! I need you to make some things to make sure the table I have will be full -- what can you do in this short of time?" I started a list to make ten Easy Does It bags, and created tags that identify the designer name, website, etc.

I named this VEDI (vertical Easy Does It) "purple glimmer" and used oil spill hardware/zipper coil. Incorporating the tabs created from the Drop Zone and a carrying strap from the website.

I love my oldest daughter a lot, hence my contribution to helping fill her spot at this high-end event in her local community.

WHAT WE LOVED: Our team member Elisa had this to say, " She deserves all the credit in the world for choosing such a wide variety of styles for these bags. There's something for everyone!"

WHAT THEY WON: $15 coupon to use on ByAnnie.com
